Three factors of advocacy success: Evidence -Mmomentuam – Legitimacy

Authors:

From 12 to 14 June 2019, the Advocacy Regional Working Group hosted Regional Advocacy Workshop bringing together representatives from two Advocacy flagship Helvetas Projects in the Western Balkan (Programme for Local Development and Decentralisation and PERFORM) to showcase their experience.

The workshop focused on drawing concrete good practices and failures from DLDP and PERFORM (SDC-funded project implemented from Helvetas) with projects like RISI, DEMOS,  E4E, Overseas Development Institute (ODI), Westminster Foundation, Democracy Reporting International, Palladium, GLAM  etc. which were designing or implementing their advocacy cases. The panel discussed the three enabling factors of advocacy: momentum, legitimacy, and evidence. Through case presentation, tool application, breakout sessions, coaching, and networking, the workshop disseminated the good policy influence practices/models of policy change.

Additionally, the workshop reviewed the strategic objective of the Advocacy Regional Working Group and developed a common ground of joint Advocacy Work with its partners.
