Helvetas Eastern Europe Shares Advocacy Experience with Latin America

On September 23rd, the Eastern Europe Helvetas Regional Advocacy Network shared its valuable experience with the newly established community of practice in Helvetas Latin America. Over the past five years, we have cultivated a hybrid community that leverages the strengths of both digital technology and in-person meetings, adding a human touch to our network.
During the session, we concluded that effective advocacy strategies must be systemic, ensuring sustainability and fostering collective intelligence to address policy challenges. Our work builds upon the Helvetas Advocacy Toolkit, and we have generated new knowledge through blogs and discussions within the network.
We have successfully evolved from a traditional community of practice into a robust network of partners encompassing civil society, academia, the private sector, public actors, and individual activists. Organising policy hackathons has emerged as a social and innovative practice that further strengthens our collaborative efforts.
As we shared our Eastern European experiences with our colleagues in Latin America, we are confident that transcontinental exchange is not only possible but also effective. We extend our best wishes to our Latin American partners and eagerly anticipate their initiatives. In a rapidly changing world, the need for advocacy is more pressing than ever, and we believe that together, we can make a significant impact.
